SafeCare Georgia Network

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) and the National SafeCare Training and Research Center (NSTRC) are working together to train providers in Georgia to implement the SafeCare model.  SafeCare in Georgia is now being referred to as Family Visitation Services/SafeCare (FVS/SC).  Family Visitation Services/SafeCare is an in-home parent training program for parents of children ages 0-5 and will be a Family Preservation service referred by DFCS.

A variety of agencies that serve families at risk for maltreatment are eligible for SafeCare training. However, agencies must obtain a Family Visitation Services contract from their local DFCS office in order to participate in SafeCare training.  For more details regarding these contracts, please contact your local DFCS office or Kim Lee with DHS.
